PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a decrease in printing quality by preventing the paper feeding capability from deteriorating.

SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: a print device 110 for printing print information on long recording paper 56; a paper feeding device 112 for conveying the recording paper 56; a cutting device 114 for cutting the recording paper 56 printed by the print device 110 into any length; a count device 86 for counting the number of cuts in the cutting device 114; an indicator 88 for indicating information to a user; and a control part 76 for controlling the above. When the number of cuts counted by the count device 86 reaches a predetermined number, the printer indicates an indication of promoting maintenance on the indicator 88.
