A method for the emergency rescue of personnel who are carrying out shaft sinking during work in a mine with the aid of a shaft suspension framework (1) that is provided with displacement means (3) and that can be displaced with the aid of a combustion engine (4), the shaft framework comprising a crane arm (13) that is driven from the electrical grid that is present in the mine, with an electrically driven wire winch (24) from which a platform (33a) that can be raised and lowered is suspended. When the working platform (33a) cannot be used, the method comprises: a) the manoeuvring of a rescue basket (53) suspended from the crane arm (13) using a rescue winch (45) that is arranged at the crane arm (13) to a position that is independent relative to the position of the working platform (33a) that cannot be used, with the aid of a control wire (50), b) lowering the rescue basket (53) to personnel who are located down in a shaft (X), and c) raising the rescue basket (53) with the personnel from the shaft (X).
