<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reduction in weight and reduction in cost, and to improve durability of a stem end part. <P>SOLUTION: In the intake valve 20 of an internal combustion engine in which a valve stem 23 extends from the center of a valve element 22, the valve element 22 has a valve element thickness part 45 on the outer side of a valve element framework part 40.
