The invention relates to a connection pin 1 for mounting in a through-hole 42 provided in a component carrier 40 of an electronic assembly, the connection pin comprising an anchoring part 2 adapted for insertion into said through-hole 42, a contact part 3 adapted to extend outside said through-hole 42, and a flange part 4 adapted to abut against said component carrier and located between said anchoring part and said contact part. The connection pin 1 is provided with an internal cavity 5, which is provided with an outer opening 6 at a free end of the anchoring part 2. The contact part 3 is provided with a protruding elongated interconnection member 9 at a free end thereof, and the respective shapes of the interconnection member 9 and the internal cavity 5 are such that the interconnection member is adapted for insertion into a corresponding internal cavity of another similar connection pin. According to the invention is also defined a method for producing an electronic assembly with stackable modules comprising of component carriers with connection pins, and such an electronic assembly.
