<p>In order to provide a technology for implementing assistance by warning or support in a manner which is optimized and not annoying to the driver, the present invention provides a travel assist apparatus that implements assistance by warning or support so as to avoid lateral deviation of a vehicle. A predicted deviation time which corresponds to assistance implementation timing is changed depending on a lateral speed of the vehicle. This enables the adoption of the predicted deviation time corresponding to the assistance implementation timing in accordance with the lateral speed of the vehicle, so that the assistance implementation timing can be optimized. Thus, assistance by warning or support can be implemented in a manner which is optimized and not annoying to the driver.</p> |
