<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing high-manganese based nonmagnetic steel with high productivity while suppressing surface defects of a cast slab occurring during continuous casting. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided the manufacturing method of high-manganese based nonmagnetic steel using a continuous casting method which has a composition containing, by mass%, C: 0.45-1.3%, Si: 0.05-0.5%, Mn: 10-19%, P: ≤0.10%, S: ≤0.02%, Al: 0.003-0.1%, N: 0.005-0.30%, and has a magnetic permeability of ≤1.1. The manufacturing method is characterized in that a casting temperature T is controlled to satisfy an expression (1): a≤T≤+50, and a casting rate Vc (m/min) is selected within a range of an expression (2): Vc≥0.02×(T-a), where a denotes a value to be determined by an expression (3) based on the composition of steel where expression (3):a=1,557-[53×(%C)+4.5×(%Mn)+45×(%P)]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
