<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical modulator with reduced crosstalk in a high-frequency electric signal. <P>SOLUTION: The optical modulator includes: a substrate having an electro-optic effect; an optical waveguide including a Mach Zehnder optical waveguide fabricated on the substrate for guiding light; and a traveling-wave electrode, which is formed on one surface of the substrate and comprises a plurality of center conductors and a plurality of grounding conductors for a high-frequency electric signal for applying a high-frequency electric signal to modulate light.
