<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass article in a glass melting furnace equipped with rod-like electrodes, whereby a desired heating condition of melting glass can be maintained by measuring precise amount of wear of a plurality of rod-like electrodes immersed in the glass melting furnace and inserting appropriate length of the rod-like electrodes into the melting furnace, thereby enabling manufacturing of the glass article with stable quality and high manufacturing efficiency for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the glass article comprises directly applying an alternating current between the rod-like electrodes disposed inside a melting glass retention tank and heating and molding the melting glass. The method comprises: a measuring step of applying an alternating applied voltage V between the rod-like electrodes immersed in the melting glass and reference electrodes not involved in heating of the melting glass and measuring a value K obtained by dividing the voltage value V by the current value I; and a wear length recovery step of recovering the wear length in the longitudinal direction of the rod-like electrode determined by the measured values K and T (molten glass temperature) obtained in the measuring step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
