The present invention relates to a liquid crystal compound for a compensation film for a liquid crystal display device, and more particularly to a triphenylene-based reactive mesogen containing acetylene. According to the present invention, the triphenylene-based reactive mesogen containing acetylene can be formed into a thin film for a compensation film due to the high birefringence thereof, and a liquid crystal device using said compensation film is advantageous in that it can provide a wide viewing angle for a large screen.
