摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire air pressure monitoring system that can properly monitor the air pressure of a tire of each wheel, even if a change is generated in a vehicle environment. <P>SOLUTION: In the tire air pressure monitoring system, the transmission and reception of radio signals are performed between sensor units U1 to U4 which are arranged at the respective wheels W1 to W4 and transmit the radio signals and a monitor 1. The monitor 1 determines positions of the wheels arranged at the sensor units which have transmitted the radio signals on the basis of the intensity of receiving signals which have received the radio signals via a receiving antenna 10a, and monitors the air pressure of the respective wheels W1 to W4 on the basis of the determination result and the information of the air pressure included in the radio signals. Here, when it is not possible to determine the positions of the wheels arranged at the sensor units based on the intensity of the receiving signals, the directivity of the reception antenna 10a is changed via a directivity changing part 12, and the positions of the wheels arranged at the sensor units are determined once again. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
