<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering system which can prevent a driver from feeling unpleasantness using a motor rotational angle detecting means constructed simply suppressing parts number increasing or cost increasing. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes a motor relative angle detecting means 48 which has motor relative angle information calculating sections 48a to 48c which calculate relative angle information of the electric motor corresponding to steering amount with respect to the steering system of the driver, and a relative angle information supplementing section 48e which can always generate the relative angle information by preventing the motor relative angle information calculating section from acquiring no relative angle information. Furthermore, the relative angle information supplementing section detects relative angular velocity, and when the detected relative angular velocity becomes within at least dead zone near zero, processes relative angular velocity offset processing which sums up offset value changing sign every predetermined cycle to the relative angular velocity so that the relative angular information may be acquired by the motor relative angle detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
