<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum pump capable of securing stable lubrication of a gear mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: This vacuum pump 1 includes a pump part 2, a driving part 3, a rotation transmitting part 4, and a regulating member 60. The pump part 2 includes rotors 21 and 22, and a pump room 23 for storing the rotors 21 and 22. The driving part 3 includes a driving mechanism for rotating the rotor 21, a motor chamber 33 for storing the driving mechanism, and a first deaeration passage P1 for communicating the pump room 23 with the motor chamber 33. The rotation transmitting part 4 includes synchronous gears 41 and 42 for synchronously rotating the rotor 21 and the rotor 22, a gear chamber 43 for storing the synchronous gears 41 and 42 and capable of storing lubricating oil G, and a second deaeration passage P2 for communicating the motor chamber 33 with the gear chamber 43.
