<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a U-shaped seal having excellent sealing stability for a plane to be sealed of a scroll compressor etc. which eccentrically rotates. <P>SOLUTION: The U-shaped seal is composed of a seal body 10 made of resin having a U-shaped cross-section, and a metallic interior elastic body 20 inserted into a concave groove 11 of the seal body 10. The seal body 10 is equipped with a first sealing part 121 and a second sealing part to be brought into contact with a sliding plane 211 and a stationary plane 213 parallel with each other. The first sealing part 121 in contact with the sliding plane 211 has a flat shape eliminating a lip.
