<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine luminance unevenness in a background region from an image to be processed, without acquiring additional information only on the background region. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing device includes an acquiring part for acquiring an image by capturing an object to be observed, and an estimation part for estimating a luminance distribution in the background region excluding a region of the object in the image.
