<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increased viscosity of liquid even under the environment of high temperature and low humidity. <P>SOLUTION: A maintenance apparatus includes: a cap that has a storage part for receiving and storing the liquid discharged from the liquid ejecting head with a nozzle forming surface where a plurality of nozzles each for ejecting liquid and that seals the nozzle forming surface in a state the plurality of nozzles and the storage part are opposed; a vibration applying portion that applies vibrations to the liquid stored within the storage part; and a control portion that actuates the vibration applying portion for a predetermined period when a space is sealed in a state that the liquid is stored within the storage part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
