<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable uniform coating without reducing work efficiency while preventing paint from adhering to a worker or a spray gun when the spray gun is separated from an object to be coated. <P>SOLUTION: This electrostatic coating apparatus 1 includes a spray gun 2, a cascade 3 provided in the spray gun to generate a high DC voltage, an electric current detection circuit 14 that detects a current flowing through the cascade 3, and an output mode changing device 21.
