A sealing gasket composition for sheet-metal bottle and jar closures comprises a butadieneacrylonitrile rubber and a filler consisting of a carbon black composed of discrete isolated particles and a carbon black having a chain-like structure, the ratio of the second to the first carbon black being less than 4 to 11 and the carbon black of chain-like structure comprising less than 12 per cent by weight of the total composition. Other materials such as zinc oxide, sulphur, stearic acid and a plasticiser may be present. |
