The steering-unit (10) has a handle bar (12) operatively connected with a steering pinion (14) of a steering column (16) and with a ball screw drive (20) that is drivable by an electric motor (18). An output shaft (32) of the electric motor is aligned parallel to a longitudinal axis of the handle bar. An engaging portion (34) of the steering pinion is adjustable to the handle bar by a thrust piece (36). The thrust piece is designed as a cylinder, and comprises an open-edged recess that faces toward the handle bar. A front surface of the thrust piece is tensioned against the handle bar.
