<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter capable of positively detecting a rise in motor current during torque control operation. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter comprises: a conversion section (20) that converts electric power from Ac power supply (6)side to AC power with a predetermined frequency by switching operations of a plural;ity of switching elements (Sr, Ss, St, Su, Sv, Sw, Sx, Sy, Sz) and that outputs the AC power to a motor (5); a control section (40) that executes a torque control operation so that output torque of the motor (5) includes a power supply pulsation component which is a pulsation component with an integral multiple of an output voltage frequency of the AC power supply (6) and varies with load torque fluctuations in the motor (5), determines a peak current value when the timing of a peak of the power supply pulsation component meets or substantially meets that of a peak of the load torque fluctuation component, and reduces a fluctuation range of output torque so that the peak current value does not exceed a predetermined upper limit value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
