<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the conventional density unevenness evaluation method in which: density unevenness which does not exceed a predetermined threshold cannot be extracted since density unevenness is recognized using a threshold. <P>SOLUTION: A density unevenness evaluation method includes the steps of: measuring the density of a test pattern recorded in a recording medium to constant target density; performing Fourier transformation on spatial frequency data in a predetermined scanning direction of a test pattern obtained through density measurement; performing inverse Fourier transformation on partial Fourier transformed data of a plurality of specific frequency bands of the Fourier transformed data obtained through the Fourier transformation; extracting data on peak points from specific band spatial frequency data of each specific frequency band obtained through the inverse Fourier transformation; calculating difference values between consecutive lines connecting extracted peak points and specific band spatial frequency data of each specific frequency band; and selecting a density unevenness object area from the difference values. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
