Provided is an electric automobile that swiftly takes appropriate countermeasures when there has been a performance degradation such as demagnetization of motor permanent magnets. An inverter device (22) or an ECU (21) is provided with: a magnetism estimation means (38) that estimates the magnetism of the permanent magnets of the rotor of a motor (6); a determination means (39) thereof; and an abnormality response motor drive control means (40). The magnetism estimation means (38) estimates magnetism in accordance with a prescribed rule from at least two detection signals among a motor rotational frequency, a motor voltage, and a motor current. The determination means (39) determines whether or not the estimated magnetism is within a set tolerance range. The abnormality response motor drive control means (40) controls the driving of the motor by the inverter device (22) in accordance with determination results by the determination means (39) that there is an abnormality. |
