A cleaning tool for an optical connector according to the present invention includes a cleaning tip (18) which has an apical surface formed to face the connecting end face of an optical connector (12) while having a thread passage formed for guiding a cleaning thread to the apical surface. The cleaning tool includes a main body of the cleaning tool (13) which rotates the cleaning tip (18) while moving the cleaning thread. The thread passage is constituted by a hole, a groove, and a communication portion. The hole is opened near the outer rim of the apical surface. The groove has one end that is opened at the outer rim opposite the hole in the apical surface across the center of the apical surface while extending from the outer rim along the side surface of the cleaning tip (18). The communication portion communicates the hole and the other end of the groove with the inside of the main body of the cleaning tool (13).
