A communication device is provided with: a window function processing unit which, regarding a basic code string generated on the basis of received communication data, multiplies a specific area of a first partial code string by a window function; a window function processing unit which, regarding the basic code string, multiplies a specific area of a second partial code string by a window function, the second partial code string being separated from the first partial code string by the integral multiple of a symbol length of a synchronization symbol; a synthesis unit which generates a synthesis code string by synthesizing the multiplication results of the window function processing units; a correlator which calculates a correlation value between a spread code and the first partial code string in which the specific area is replaced by the synthesis code string; and a synchronization detection unit which detects a synchronization time by extracting a correlation peak value from the correlation value calculated by the correlator.
