The strip has a hollow chamber (A) with a circular cross section, and a hinge-like recess provided in an outer wall of the chamber opposite to a movable sealing lip (150). The outer wall of the chamber is found towards the sealing lip. The outer wall is provided with a stop lug and/or the sealing lip with a stopper rib for determining the deflection distance of the sealing lip, during inward deflection of the sealing lip.
