The instrument (1) has an instrument body (3) comprising a handle (4) on a proximal end and a cutting knife (6) in an area of a distal end. The instrument body is formed in grooved shape in an area of the cutting knife in such a manner that the instrument body comprises a hollow space extending in longitudinal direction of the instrument body to receive and guide muscle/tendon tissue to be cut (2). The instrument body comprises an opening extending in the longitudinal direction such that the cutting knife forms a side of the instrument body.
