摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve vehicle handling stability on a drying road surface as well as restrain uneven wear of tires at the beginning of traveling while maintaining tire performance on a snowy and iced road. SOLUTION: A tread part 2 is provided with shoulder blocks B2 on both sides and crown blocks B1. In this case, the shoulder blocks B2 are partitioned by shoulder main grooves 3B and tread edges 2e, and the crown blocks B1 are partitioned by a pair of shoulder main grooves 3B. A tread rubber 2G includes a tread rubber body 7 made of flexible rubber, and a covering layer 8 made of rigid rubber and overlying the tread rubber body 7. The thickness t of the covering layer 8 is 0.04-0.15 times the groove depth Dp of the shoulder main groove 3B. The covering layer 8 includes edge parts 8e which are each located on a groove wall surface 3Bw of each shoulder main groove 3B outside the tire axis direction at a height h from a groove bottom 3Bb. In this case, the height h is at least 0.15 times and not more than 0.4 times the groove depth Dp of the shoulder main groove 3B. The covering layer 8 overlies substantially only the crown blocks B1 by continuously covering a whole area between the edge parts 8e, 8e in the tire circumferential direction.
