The invention relates to an automobile dashboard cross-member of the type that includes a tube (4) for being attached by the ends thereof to the front side posts of an automobile structure, the tube (4) including two end sections (10) and an intermediate section (8), in which the intermediate section (8) is cylindrical and has a cross-section having a convex outer outline. According to one aspect of the invention, at least one of the two end sections (10) is cylindrical and has a cross-section having a convex outline different from that of the intermediate section, has an external tangential plane (P) in common with the intermediate section (10), and has an external size, measured in a direction perpendicular to the common external tangential plane (P), which is smaller than the intermediate section (8). |
