<p>A device suitable for organ packing comprising an essentially rectangular body, with first and second long edges, and first and second short edges, the first long edge comprising a top flap 25, 25', the second long edge comprising a bifurcated bottom flap 21, 21', the first and second short edges each comprising a side flap 23, 23', wherein the lower edge of each side flap 23, 23' forms a smooth edge with a bottom half flap 25, 25'. The invention further provides methods of use of the devices of the invention for bowel packing. The invention further provides methods for increasing bowel packing speed, increasing effectiveness of bowel retention, decreasing the formation of post-operative intraperitoneal adhesions, and increasing temperature of the abdominal cavity during surgery by use of the device.</p> |
