In a railway vehicle axle-box having cylindrical roller bearings 2, 3 which roll directly on the inner wall of the casing 15, the rollers have a lateral abutment against a central shoulder 6 on the casing and against shoulders or the like on the axle journal. The races 4, 5 so formed are tempered, and inner races 11, 12 may be provided or the rollers may bear directly on the shaft 13. Axle guiding surfaces on the casing are spaced apart at the same distance as in a plain bearing axle-box for a corresponding axle journal diameter. Shields 7 8 are bolted to the ends of the casing. |
