<p>Preparing phenylene-bis-oxazoline derivatives (I), comprises adding an aromatic dinitrile (II) to the mixture comprising amino alcohol (III) and catalyst, where an additional solvent is added during the reaction, completely removing the excess amino alcohol at the end of the reaction and replacing amino alcohol with a non-polar solvent and obtaining the crude product with an amino alcohol content of maximum of 20% based on the amount of (I). Preparing phenylene-bis-oxazoline derivatives of formula (I), comprises adding an aromatic dinitrile of formula (II) to the mixture comprising amino alcohol of formula [NH 2-C(R 4)(R 3>)-[C(R 5>)(R 6>)] n-C(R 1>)(R 2>)-OH] (III) and catalyst, where an additional solvent is added during the reaction, completely removing the excess of amino alcohol at the end of the reaction and replacing the amino alcohol with a non-polar solvent and obtaining the crude product with an amino alcohol content of maximum of 20% based on the amount of (I).
