<p>An electrically heated thermal store has an electrical element heating to a lower normal and a higher boost temperature influenced by signals from a remote operator (e.g. a power generator or electricity supplier) to charge the store. The store can be a storage heater or a cylinder (figs 6a,6b) for hot water or oil. A controller can forecast usage, use weather predictions & room thermal characteristics, calculate the heat requirement & heat already stored and time back-charging of the store. A system stabilising an electricity grid has an aggregator (603, fig 7) who sends signals to thermal stores.</p> |
