During the transfer of packets (10) from a packaging machine or the like to a drying turret (11) having two rows or pocket rings (14, 15) of pockets (12, 13), a transfer turret (18) is successively loaded with individual packages (10). Corresponding pockets (12, 13) of adjacent pocket rings (14, 15) are associated with two respective receptacles (19) of the transfer turret (18), such that the individually fed packages (10) can be transferred to the drying turret (11) in pairs.
