A dry rectifier arrangement comprises a parallel faced holder of insulating material with an aperture extending between said faces and containing a stack or stacks of rectifier elements urged towards one end of the aperture by means contained therein and retained in position by electrically conducting members, one on each face. These members which close the ends of the aperture are each secured to their respective faces at two points on opposite sides of the aperture. Alternatively, several apertures are used, each having its own two conducting members, or where all the apertures lie on a straight line a common conducting member covering all the apertures and fixed to the face at two points on opposite sides of the line, may be used on one or both faces. In the embodiment, a holder 1 with a single aperture 2 is shown. Conducting members 5, 6 covering the respective ends of aperture 2 are formed with two holes engaging projections formed on the holder which are thermally deformed to fix members 5 and 6 in place. Good electrical contact between the rectifier elements 3 forming the stack and between the stack and members 5, 6 is ensured by a spring 4 which presses the stack against member 6 and itself provides the electrical connection between the stack and member 5.
