<p>A setting composition comprises vermiculite, Portland cement, and the fibres contained in waste paper, pulped paper, paper pulp or effluent from paper manufacture. In one example a composition for making tiles, sheets, bricks and blocks comprises 3 parts by volume of paper pulp and/or fibres from effluent from paper manufacture, 1 1/2 parts vermiculite, 1 part Portland cement, and 1/2 part marl or China clay. In a further example a composition for making board comprises 4 parts by volume of paper pulp and/or fibres from effluent from paper manufacture, 1 part Portland cement, 1/2 part vermiculite and 1/2 part marl or China clay. According to the Provisional Specification the fibres contained in the composition may, alternatively, comprise comminuted bracken, flax, or other like plants.</p> |
