A method assist in discovery of a directional communications network using an omni-directional communications network is provided. The method may comprise obtaining connectivity information using a first protocol for one or more apparatuses, and establishing a session with one of the one or more apparatuses for directional communication using a second protocol, wherein the first protocol is different than the second protocol.
