A fungicidal composition comprises a substantially insoluble copper compound e.g. copper oxychloride and a small proportion of a substantially non-volatile and substantially insoluble organo-mercury compound which is a member of the series R-Hg-X, were R is a hydrocarbon radical preferably an aromatic hydrocarbon such as phenyl and X is a halogen or other acid radical forming a substantially non-volatile and substantially insoluble organo-mercury compound. Specified mercury compounds are phenyl mercury chloride and phenyl - mercury - dimethyl - dithiocarbamate.
