FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mining and may be used in production and survey of minerals. Proposed method exploits transmission mechanism to rotate cone of hydraulic cyclone. Optimum operating conditions of hydraulic cyclone are set by varying cone rotation rpm and direction. Hydraulic mix is fed via tangential inlet of feed branch pipe into cylindrical section for mix to swirl in two flows to subject sold particles to centrifugal forces so that the latter are thrown toward taper section inner surface. Interaction of active and reactive forces in hydrocyclone cone redistributes mix speed and direction. Inner and outer flows separate mineral grains. Heavier grains stay in outer flow to move toward cone tip and be discharged via discharge adapter while lighter grains are discharged in inner flow via discharge branch pipe. ^ EFFECT: higher quality of separation. ^ 2 dwg
