The invention relates to electric network equipment and can be used to limit reactive power fluxes in power-supply systems of industrial plants. According to a method of limiting reactive power consumption of an asynchronous motor commutation is provided of the asynchronous motor in idle state with use of an idle state limiter. According to the invention, a circuit comprising a semiconductor voltage limiter and an auxiliary contactor is mounted in parallel to the main contactor. The contacts of main contactor are disconnected, the contacts of auxiliary contactor are closed while the motor load closes to the load of idle state; voltage on the motor terminals is regulated using a semiconductor voltage limiter, optimizing energy loss, the voltage limiter is calculated for a power close to idle state power. Previously it was proposed to disconnect the motor running in idle state, but human factor did not allow one to disconnect motor frequently, because frequent disconnection of the motor irritated workers. According to the proposed method the motor disconnection is not provided. Decrease of reactive power is achieved due to decrease of voltage. The voltage limiter is connected only in the moments of load decrease that allows to decrease power and cost of the voltage regulator. |
