PURPOSE: A scribing method of glass substrate is provided to safely form scribing groove by controlling the depth of initial crack based on total thickness of the tempered glass and a reinforced layer. CONSTITUTION: A scribing method of glass substrate comprises the following steps: forming the initial crack on the surface of the tempered glass within a predetermined distance from cross section of the glass substrate; and heating the glass by irradiating the initial crack except an end part of the scanning initial part and progressing the crack along the scribing predetermined line by cooling the heated area. In the process, the depth of the initial crack is 1.14 times or greater and 1.67 times or less of the thickness of the reinforcement layer. In first the process, the initial crack depth does not go over 5.4% of the total thickness of the tempered glass.
