A technique for the reconstruction of the abdominal wall in transverse-lateral abdominal hernia comprises placing polypropylene implant between internal oblique and transverse muscles of abdomen. First, the internal oblique and transverse muscles of abdomen are separated from the edge of the defect to the crest of the ilium inferiorly and the aponeurosis of the crescent line medially, the cartilages of the ribs IX-X from superiorly and thoracolumbar fascia and periosteum of the ribs XI-XII laterally. The excess of the hernial sac are resected. The edges of the transverse muscle of abdomen are sutured with peritoneum. The mesh implant is fixed to the crest of the ilium to the crest of the ilium inferiorly and the aponeurosis of the crescent line medially, the cartilages of the ribs IX-X superiorly and thoracolumbar fascia and periosteum of the ribs XI-XII laterally. |
