PRISMATIC SECONDARY BATTERY EMPLOYED WITH SAFETY PLATE

PURPOSE: A prismatic secondary battery is provided to prevent unnecessary fracture of a safety plate, and to easily control fracture stress after operation of a safety plate at the same time, and to effectively discharge gas after operation of a safety plate. CONSTITUTION: A prismatic secondary battery comprises an electrode assembly sealed in a prismatic battery case. The battery case consists of a rectangular case main body(40) consisting of metal material, and a case cap comprising an electrode terminal. A safety plate is formed on the case main body. The safety plate is as a linear notch groove(60) crossing a vertical central axis on both sides of the case main body. Based on vertical central axis of the case main body, a left part and a right part of the notch groove are asymmetry.
