PURPOSE: A sound to haptic effect conversion system using an amplitude value is provided to create haptic effects by reproducing a haptic signal using an actuator. CONSTITUTION: The data frame of an audio signal is received. The maximum value of the data frame is created. A haptic signal is created based on the maximum value. The maximum value defines the size of the haptic signal. The haptic signal creates haptic effects by transmitting the haptic signal to an actuator. The haptic signal includes periodical effects. Sample values of the data frame are created by sampling the data frame.
