PURPOSE: An image display device and an operation method thereof are provided to improve operation efficiency by reducing the heating and EMI(electromagnetic interference) of a drive circuit unit. CONSTITUTION: An image display device comprises a position determination unit(160), a look-up table(170), a timing control unit(150), a pre-emphasis voltage generation unit(180), and a data drive unit(120). The position determination unit confirms the horizontal line position where data inputted to the timing control unit is to be supplied. The look-up table stores pre-emphasis voltage information corresponding to the horizontal line position. The timing control unit transfers the pre-emphasis voltage information to the data drive unit. The pre-emphasis voltage generation unit generates pre-emphasis voltage corresponding to the pre-emphasis voltage information. The data drive unit supplies the pre-emphasis voltage to data lines.
