PURPOSE: A device for measuring a fuel amount is provided to prevent the generation of a breakdown or malfunction because a contact terminal and variable resistance are not short circuited even though an external force in a horizontal direction is actuated on a float by the acceleration, deceleration, or a direction conversion of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring a fuel amount comprises a float(67), an arm(70), a contact terminal(60), and a variable resistance(55). The float moves up and down according to a fuel level of a fuel tank. One end part of the arm is joined to the float and the arm rotates around the rotational center being spaced from the one end part according to the float being moved up and down. The contact terminal is joined to the arm and moves along a first circular arc concentric to the rotational center by rotating the arm. The variable resistance is formed into a shape corresponding to the first circular arc, thereby contacting to the moving contact terminal. A resistance value of the variable resistance is changed according to positions where the contact terminal contacts. |
