PURPOSE: A path protection system on heterogeneous network, an apparatus thereof, and a method thereof are provided to protect a path when a routing path is damaged on a network based on an MPLS-TP(Multi-Protocol Label Switching-Transport Profile). CONSTITUTION: A metro ring(20) includes a plurality of nodes. The metro ring is connected to one node of an access ring(10). The metro ring receives a protection message. The metro ring changes the received protection message from a first protocol into a second protocol. The metro ring transmits the protection message of a changed mode. The metro ring protects the path according to the transmitted protection message.
