METHOD FOR NOISE VARIANCE ESTIMATION IN OFDM SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for estimating noise variance in an OFDM system is provided to improve reception performance by suggesting a noise variance estimation method. CONSTITUTION: A method for estimating noise variance in an OFDM(Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system includes a step of receiving a modulated signal which is transmitted through a plurality of subcarriers. The method includes a step of performing the fast Fourier transform of the received modulated signal. The method includes a step of calculating noise variance by applying a predetermined equation to the modulated signal. An impulse noise has large noise variance in the limited number of symbols.
