<p>The method involves measuring richness of exhaust gas in upstream of a reducing agent injector (6) of an internal combustion engine (2) i.e. diesel engine, of a motor vehicle, and measuring richness of exhaust gas in downstream of the reducing agent injector and in upstream of a selective reduction catalyst (5). Quantity of injected reducing agent e.g. urea, is calculated based on a difference between the exhaust gas richness measurements. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a control method for regulating quantity of reducing agent injected in an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine (2) a method for diagnosing malfunction of reducing agent injecting system (3) a device for determining quantity of reducing agent injected in an exhaust line of an internal combustion engine, comprising a reducing agent quantity setpoint generating unit.</p> |
