PURPOSE: A liquid crystal block copolymer is provided to reduce reaction time of liquid crystal by adding a small amount of a block copolymer to a liquid crystalline monomer. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal block copolymer comprises a structure in which a liquid polymer block and a polystyrene block in chemical formula 1are connected. In chemical formula 1, k is 1-1000, m is 1-1000. A manufacturing method of the block copolymer comprises: a step of forming a polystyrene-bromine block by reacting styrene with 1-bromoethyle-benzene under the presence of a catalyst; and a step of obtaining a liquid crystalline block copolymer by reacting the polystyrene-bromine block with an acrylate-based liquid crystal monomer under the presence of a catalyst. In the first step and the second step, atom transfer radical polymerization is used.
