The device has connectors (MC1, MC2) connected to a diagnostic socket (PD) coupled to a primary electronic equipment (EP1) of a vehicle (V) i.e. car, and secondary electronic equipment (ES) so as to provide data for configuring and/or setting the primary electronic equipment of the car. A memory (MS) e.g. flash memory, stores the data provided by the secondary electronic equipment, and a microcontroller (MT) extracts the stored data to transfer the data to the primary electronic equipment of the car when the connectors are connected to the diagnostic socket.
