A grip attachment for footwear is disclosed to provide enhanced grip on running and playing surfaces during sporting activities. In a preferred embodiment, the grip attachment comprises a moulded body having heel and forefoot regions supporting grip retaining elements to which grip components, such a cleats, studs or spikes, are secured. A heel engaging retaining member extends from the attachment to engage the foot aperture of the footwear which> together with straps or other securing elements, secures the grip attachment to a shoe or trainer in such a way that it does not slip, twist or otherwise disengage from the footwear during said sporting activities. |
